The Oceans Between Stars

Whew. This book picks up exactly where the first one left off. It’s an exciting ride with many twists and turns along the way. I’ve almost lost count of the number of alien species in the mix, but in this book we find that some are much closer than we think.

The children plunge into many dangers. Despite betrayals and surprises they must learn to trust each other under very difficult circumstances to continue on with their quest to reunite with what’s left of the human race.

Once of the most interesting aspects of this book was the way time was dealt with in a very fluid way. As one character informs the children. Time is another dimension and can be treated in a more elastic way than just linearly. This is a hard concept to get across and this book excels on this point.

A great read. I recommend it for children and adults. Waiting anxiously for the next one.
