Books, Books, Books, and a Galah

Here I am again. This time I am writing from Australia. At the moment I am in Adelaide, which is in the state of South Australia. The weather is hot here. Since we arrived we have had many days where the temperature has reached over 30 degrees celsius. The house we are staying in and the car we are driving are both air conditioned so that has been a big help.

For us, this is such a novelty as at home in Vancouver it is still snowing. Our friends are sending us pictures of fresh snow on the ground. This is very unusual for March in Vancouver.

Editing Lady Knight

Because of the move from Vancouver to Adelaide, the editing is not going as quickly as I would like. I’ve found a time problem and will have to add several days in one chapter so that people can move realistically from one spot to another on horses.

What is surprising me the most about editing is how much I enjoy it. I thought it would be a bore, but I’m finding it a lot of fun. It’s like having made something that is rough and now I get to polish it until it shines.

Reading

In my last post I mentioned that I was reading a book called Scorpion Rules by Erin Bow. I finished it and loved it, but I would consider it a young adult book rather than for the age group that my books are written for.

A Galah

This is a picture of a galah. It’s an Australian bird. We are staying at Aldinga Beach and there are flocks of these birds soaring through the air every morning when we are out walking. It was unusual to see one all by itself.

I would be interested to know what you think of this bird. You could Google the word and I think you would find a lot of very interesting information and a lot more pictures.
