All the Greys on Greene Street  By Laura Tucker

Meet Olympia, a girl with a lot of problems. None of them are her doing. Her father has decamped to France under mysterious circumstances and her mother has taken to her bed and is not to be disturbed.

Olympia is left to cope, keeping her mother’s condition a secret, carrying on her usual school and friendship activities, while all the time striving for a response from her mother. She is fortunate in the friends she has around her and the artistic community in which she lives.

How the story plays out and the bips and bumps along the way will keep you turning the pages. It certainly did me. The mystery revolves around the why of her father’s secret journey to France and makes for a telling and unusual plot.

The characters are well drawn and interesting, each in their own way and the story carries them all along to the exciting conclusion. Mysteries solved – of course.  Read this book. I think you will be glad you did.

This is Laura Tucker’s debut novel. I truly hope she is working diligently on her second.
