I am into the editing stage of Book 3 at the moment. This morning, I reached the end of my story on my third time through. I’ve been combing over the text making sure I have everything the way I want it. I’m trying to make every sentence easy to read and understand. As I reached the end today, I felt very satisfied. I still like the story and I’m pleased with the ending.
I was about to pat myself on the back when I realized that I still wanted to enliven my descriptions of the countryside that Susan travels through this time. Hmm. Google to the rescue. I found pictures of the areas I was interested in. I was able to find out from searching the Medieval histories of places, what buildings would have been there when Susan traveled through. She also spends time in some very specific forests so I will have to search for pictures for that area of the story too. And then it will be another round of editing to enrich the descriptions in the book.
Once that is done, I will send it off to a professional editor to edit. I could never be objective enough to edit my book without another set of eyes, checking my work.If there are not too many suggested changes I hope Book 3 will be published around late August.
